SKYREAT Mavic Air 2 case: Safe and comfortable

For sure, the biggest advantage of the Mavic Air 2 combo vs standard edition, is the longer playtime (3 vs 1 battery) and the included shoulder bag. If you are on a budget and go with the standard, the SKYREAT Mavic Air 2 Case seems to be a great solution to store and transport your precious drone safely and securely, especially that is about two times cheaper than DJI’s Air 2 bag.

SKYREAT is a Chinese company focused on DJI and GoPro accessories. Their product portfolio includes cases, filters, mounting accessories, and other useful gears. SKYREAT DJI Mavic Air 2 case review

Disclosure: I received this hand case as part of a product review collaboration with Skyreat. Although the product was offered for free, all the opinions in this review remain my own!

The case measures 12.9 x 5 x 9.4″ and weighs about 700 grams. By comparison, DJI’s shoulder bag has 7.8 x 7.8 x 5.9″ and 500 grams. Both can store a similar amount of gears. The case is fully black with red zippers and minimalist design. Those who are considering bags as fashion accessories will be not amazed by it for sure. In addition to the ‘built-in’ handle, it has a removable shoulder strap, so it can be carried as either a shoulder bag or a briefcase.

Inside, on the back flap, there are dedicated compartments for each gear. On the top flap, there is only a large meshed compartment for additional accessories (like spare propellers and cables). Transmitter bay is designed to be loaded with attached sticks, which is nice as will reduce the risk to lose them on the flight field.

In detail you can store the following stuff:

• DJI Mavic Air 2 including battery, props and gimbal protector;
• 3 flight batteries (2 within the foam and 1 in the drone);
• Mavic Air 2 remote controller;
• Standard battery & RC charger;
• Fly more combo charger hub;
• RC – SmartPhone cables (micro USB, Type-C and Lightning);
• Big multiuse zipped mesh compartment for spare props, memory cards, and other stuff.

During making the Mavic Air 2 review I had more than 50 trips towards different locations for test flights. A case like this would have made my job easier – without needing to remove propellers and transmitter sticks every time I pack it. Also, in the case of rugged terrain, unsuitable to start your flight, it can be used as a take-off pad.
