Last month, I received the DJI MINI 4 Pro for review and found it a highly capable sub-250g drone. The right accessories can significantly enhance performance and the overall flying experience. Let’s break down some essential accessories, including a hard case, anti-collision light, RC sunshade, and RC LCD protector.
The first accessory I got for the DJI MINI 4 Pro was a K&F Concept ND/PL filter set, which brilliantly enhanced video quality, especially when flying in strong daylight or over water surfaces.
The M4 Pro Fly More Combo kit includes three batteries and a charging hub, all of which come in a super-compact shoulder bag. However, fitting everything inside is difficult, and the bag doesn’t offer much protection against impacts or water. So, the next accessory I wanted to get for carrying and storing my precious drone was a hard case that could offer proper protection.
Without a pilot license, 250g-class drones can only fly in line-of-sight mode (LoS). Since the MINI 4 Pro has a modest status LED, it becomes difficult to see after sunset, making an auxiliary strobe light a welcome addition.
In-depth review of StartRC DJI MINI 4 Pro and RC 2 accessories

Shenzhen STARTRC Technology Co., LTD specializes in designing, developing, producing, and selling RC drones and action camera accessories. Established in 2012, STARTRC has built a reputation in the RC drone industry, registering its brand in China, Europe, America, and Japan. Many of its products have been recognized as “Amazon’s Choice” or top sellers across various Amazon marketplaces, reflecting the quality and popularity of its accessories.
From time to time, StartRC gives away its latest drone accessories for evaluation on Facebook. I was lucky to receive four of their MINI 4 Pro accessories.
1. StartRC waterproof hard case for DJI MINI 4 Pro drone
The StartRC hard case measures 371x275x126mm and is made from durable, hard plastic. When the case is empty, it weighs 2kg, which is quite heavy. The inside of the suitcase lid is lined with foam to provide good shock protection.
In addition to the drone and its transmitter, the StartEC has a dedicated compartment for three batteries, an AC/DC USB adapter, a 3-way charging hub, two RC sticks, and filters/cables. The drone bay is compatible with the Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro, and Mini 4 Pro. The radio controller’s compartment is customizable, making it suitable for the RC, RC2, and RC-N1/N23 transmitters.
If you count the battery in the drone and the three on the charger hub, this case can transport seven batteries, allowing up to four hours of light.
As you can see in the photo below, the suitcase’s two latches have red safety switches that prevent accidental opening during transport. In addition to the built-in foldable handle, you can also use the included shoulder straps.

2. StartRC strobe anti-collision light for DJI MINI 4 Pro drone
The STARTRC Drone Strobe Light measures 35x20x15mm and weighs 9 grams. It can be attached to the drone using the included double-sided 3M tape, Velcro, or silicon rings. It is important to choose the installation position of the LED so that it does not shield the internal GPS antenna or interfere with other sensors.
This StartRC strobe is compatible with most DJI consumer drones, including Neo, Avata 2, Mini 4 Pro, Air 3, Mavic 3, and drones from brands such as Autel, FIMI, Hubsan, Holy Stone, RUKO, and others. Two of these lights are recommended for improved visibility. Providing visibility of up to 5 kilometers ensures safety during low-light conditions.
Inside the transparent case are six LEDs (four white, one red, and one green) with a total power of 120 lumens. Through the control button, you can toggle between six light modes. It has a memory function, so when it is powered on, it will start on the last selected mode. Its built-in 250mAh battery provides up to 5 hours of run-time in slow-flashing mode or 90 minutes in normal light mode. The strobe can be charged through the Type-C USB port.
The strobe light is weatherproof, allowing it to be used in various outdoor conditions. It is designed to withstand rain, dust, and other elements, ensuring durability and reliability.

3. StartRC sunshade for DJI RC 2 controller
Even with its 700 nits of high brightness, the RC2 screen can be difficult to view in bright daylight. The StartRC sun shade effectively blocks harsh sunlight from directly hitting the screen, reducing reflections and glare and allowing pilots to see a clearer image. This ensures better control and a safer flight, as the pilot can maintain a precise view of the drone’s surroundings.
The STARTRC Mini 4 Pro Sun Hood doubles as a stick and screen protector when the controller is unused (stored). The hood can be freely adjusted at any angle from 0 to 180°, so when you operate the RC 2 remote control in various outdoor weather conditions, it can block out light and protect privacy, bringing a better flight experience. It has eight pressure points for smooth movements without any stuttering.
Made of lightweight plastic, it doesn’t add too much weight to the controller. The sunshade is secured to the radio using two screws.

4. StartRC screen protector for DJI RC 2 controller
I remember when I was young, my parents used to protect the TV remote controls with kitchen foil; this old habit is gone, but we still try to protect our phone’s screen with glass or protective foil. The DJI RC 2 costs around $369, and its 5.5-inch 1920×1080 built-in FHD screen can be stretched or broken if accidentally dropped.
StartRC’s RC-2 protector kit includes two tempered glass films, three dust removal stickers, three sets of wet/dry cleaning cotton wipes, and a film applicator frame.
The specially designed applicator frame allows perfect alignment of the film and bubble-free installation—keep the frame for future reuse. Replace the protective film with the second one if it becomes worn or damaged.
According to StartRC, the screen protector’s hardness reaches up to 9H, offering excellent scratch and impact resistance. It shields against various scratches, wear, and accidental bumps, making the display more durable and as good as new. The HD tempered film features an ultra-high light transmission rate of 99.6%, preserving the screen’s true colors and image quality. The Hydrophobic and Oleophobic nano-layer coating effectively reduces fingerprints and stains while enhancing touch sensitivity.
