The upcoming Caddx Walnut drone seems to be a serious competitor to the discontinued GoPro Session 5 and RunCam 5. Measuring just 38x36mm is also a great GoPro 11 Mini alternative -don’t mention that it weighs only 60 grams with a built-in battery!
According to the rumors, it will be available for orders in October 2022 with a starting price of $179. The Caddx Walnut comes in a nice carry case, with included charging cable, magnetic data/charging interface, two ND filters, and a dedicated drone mount.
The Caddx Walnut can record 4K@60fps or 1080P@120fps videos with up to 100Mbps bit rate. It supports micro SD cards of up to 256GB. Thanks to the built-in WIFI connectivity can be controlled wirelessly from your smartphone. Being Gyroflow compatible, you can achieve smooth footage even when installed on your favorite FPV drone.

Best 2.5-3″ Cinewhoop to carry a Caddx Walnut? Primarily for indoor flying.
Unless Caddx fixes the image quality issues I will stay with my Session 5 and Insta360 GO2
I was hyped for this badly, but now I’m disappointed by the test videos. My 4-year-old GoPro Session 5 has better video quality than the Caddx Walnut!
IP64 rating? what does this mean? Can I use the Walnut underwater?
6=Totally protected against dust
4=Protected against water splashed from all directions, limited ingress permitted
So, the Caddx Walnut is just waterproof, can’t be immersed underwater!
Does it only do 4k@60fps or can it do 4k@30/25/24fps as well?
Thanks!
30minutes run time on the internal battery, pretty sweet!
Half the weight of a GoPro?
Its $179.00 USD not $129!
Expensive!
What are the differences between the Walnut and Orca?
