Elegoo Neptune 3 series comparison: Pro, Plus, & Max

Shortly after we published our Neptune 3 Pro review, Elegoo announced two new models of their 3rd generation FDM printer series. Apparently, all three 3D printers have the same features, and only the print volume differs. Of course, there is also a significant price difference. The Neptune 3 Max doubles the build volume size of the Neptune 3 Pro, making it the manufacturer’s most giant filament printer.

All three Neptune 3 (Pro, Plus, and Max) models feature auto bed leveling. While N3 Pro has 36-point, the N3 Plus 49-point, and the N3 Max 63-point mesh leveling. They have PEI magnetic sheet for easy model removal. Bed temperature can be set up to 100°C.

Intended to be used with all kinds of filaments, including TPU, the Elegoo Neptune 3 family is equipped with a Dual-Gear Direct Drive extruder. The nozzle temperature can be set up to 260°C, making it suitable for ABS filaments. The double lead screws and motor z-axis ensure stable z-movement (height) of the print head.

The Neptune 3 Max and Plus have a different power supply than the Pro edition. The wide AC voltage input range is designed to protect the 3D printer by accepting different voltage inputs to meet the application requirements (110v and 220v).

  1. I won the Neptune 3 Pro and Plus, and just noticed something weird. In CURA, the same model sliced for N3 Plus takes 21 hours, and for N3 Pro, 23 hours. Why?

      • I 3d print RC airplanes. The wings print in 4 to 5 pieces and have to be glued together. I want to be able to print an entire wing in 1 pieces and not have to glue it together. This is really important for the structural integrity of the wing. The planes I build have just under a 1 meter wing span so to be able to print a single wing already assembled I would need a printer with a 500mm Z axis.

        • There are core XY printers out there with a 600mm plus bed length that would print your wings in 1 to 2 pieces. as well as the creality line which, along with others, has a 500mm z-axis.
          Your other option is a belt printer which has 1 axis labeled as unlimited.
