Keyshare Glint Quadcopter

Keyshare Glint latest GPS FPV quadcotper

Through my FirstQuadcopter FaceBook page I found from Meihong Pan about this Keyshare Glint quadcopter. On the first look it seems to be a very promising quadcopter and a fearless alternative of the DJI Phantom series. This model will be available in at least 3 different packages, the base package will include only the Keyshare Glint with the remote controller. The most expensive deluxe edition (Glint Pro+) will also include the followings: 2D Gimbal, GoPro alike FHD camera and 5.8GHz LCD screen.

The actual tendency in the world of semi-professional quadcopters is to use their own gimbal and camera without letting any upgrade and tuning possibilities. Frankly, I don’t like this and I was glad that this new model at least apparently can be used with any other gimbal and camera.

Regarding the design of the Keyshare Glint, the square on the upper side of the body is what draw my attention while the rest is quite common for any other quadcopter from it’s category. Other information regarding the design is that it will be available in 4 different colors: white, blue, black and silver.

The generous 78 volt-ampere Li-Po battery allows up to 25 minutes of continuous flight.

In my opinion, this Feifan Keyshare Glint quad-copter can succeed only if the price will be half of the Phantom 3 Standard.

On the video below two crazy guys from the Keyshare’s research team made some rough tests with the Glint quadcopter which proves the maneuverability of this new quad-rotor.

  1. I purchased this quad on the advise of my local hobby shop dealer on appearance it was a solidly built model Already had a Phantom Pro and two Nova’s all still in one piece and performing well. The Keyshare on the other lifted to about two meters and suddenly went to full throttle disappearing into the clouds I shut down the throttle a second later it appeared back under the clouds I managed to wrestle it back over my house but still out of control it crashed on my next doors front lawn just missing there new car totalled the drone

  2. I bought one of these and was enjoying learning to fly it, but on the first battery charge (as it was charged when I bought it), the battery exploded on the bench destroying both battery and charger, I was able to get another charger but have been waiting for three months and still nothing for another battery, any help would be great

  3. Yeah so I went ahead and bought one of these last year. In short, total waste of money, monumental piece of shit.

    – Gimbal didn’t even work properly, and would just hang dead from the quadcopter, occasionally springing to life before dropping dead again. It was due to a poor quality connector to the mainboard inside the quadcopter. I had to fight long and hard with Keyshare’s sales rep to get them to finally send me another gimbal, and that wasn’t even a fix because the problem was literally an internal quality issue with the aircraft itself.

    – Even now with the issue fixed by directly soldering the wires to the board, the gimbal still only cooperates intermittently. When it decides to, it just turns full upward and stays pointing at the sky. No amount of adjusting it with the dial on the controller, or moving it by hand, pressing the control buttons on the gimbal pcb does anything. Unplug and replugged all the connectors etc, nothing works. When the gimbals decides to be a dick, that’s it, it’s going to be a dick.

    – When my Keyshare Glint arrived, the camera was half melted. Keyshare claim it was done by customs security, but I call bullshit and I think they thought they’d just screw over this random westerner by sending him their shitty one that had damage already. I forced them to send me a brand spanking new camera as replacement.

    – GPS flight modes don’t even work properly. Put it in GPS mode and it’ll hover and maintain position easily enough, but try to fly it away and the orientation of the controls is completely scrambled and makes absolutely no sense. It’s as if it’s in headless mode, with an arbitrary head position, that keeps changing throughout the flight. It makes GPS mode all but useless.

    – In conjunction with the above issue, I was told to go through a series of steps by their “technician” to reconfigure the controls to try and fix this. I did as instructed, went to take off, and the glint immediately flipped forward started grinding the ground with two motors. Great. Thanks for the great information, technician.

    – The standard landing gears are useless. They show up in shot if the gimbal happens to be working and you try to aim the camera even slightly downward. Then when you go to land the aircraft, it topples over way too easily and damages the props and grinds the motor because the damn thing takes five seconds for the motors to stop being automatically spun at low rpm.

    – Keyshare’s customer service were extremely fast to try and blame this aircraft’s shortcomings and problems on me, as if I didn’t understand how to use it properly, or that I’m a terrible pilot. They were reluctant to help and it took me a lot of arguing to get somewhere with them. On top of that, their English is terrible so there’s a serious language barrier to go hand in hand with the arguments that you WILL HAVE TO HAVE with the company over their shoddy product.

    – Flight time (autonomy) is not as long as promised.

Overall, it’s a powerful quadcopter with some very good features… and takes clear, stable video when it is cooperating… but given that this is just about never, yeah. I’ve barely used it in a year because every time I’ve taken it out, some random new problem crops up.

    Do not buy from Keyshare.

I could go on and on, there is so much wrong with this.

  4. I just won an online auction for Keyshare Glint Standard Quadcopter.
I will follow up with a novice review when it arrives. Was searching information on my new toy.

  5. Awesome post! I have never even heard of this quadcopter before reading about it on here. Have you personally flown it yourself? Just wondering what you thought of it compared to DJI quadcopters for how easy it was and if it was ready to fly?
